The R500 will weigh likely in around the 500kg mark, depending on the options chosen (windscreen vs aeroscreen). The previous K Series engined R500 was a similar spec but with the lighter engine, it came in just under 500kg. Either way, it'll be ballastic and should be interesting with the new sequential (presumably the new uprated Quaife) box.

Oh there is plenty the 14000 retirees and their friends and family can do. What would that be? Maybe 25000 to 50000 people who each buy or lease a car every year or so? Let's see, if the profit margin per car is say $10.000 x 50.000 units per year wow is that $5 million a year that Chrysler won't be getting? Gee you think it would be cheaper to pay for the crummy life insurance just like they promised when they retired these hard working people.

The important thing is the price point. The technology is superior, but still must be affordable. The future looks great for EVs.

It would be great if they had that many for their roll out. EV technology has really come a long way. The new Zap-X does 0-60 mph in 4.8 seconds!

I was impressed on how well built is a Volkswagen Tuareg and i think this one should match his "brother". i think that Tiguan looks a bit better than Tuaren though.

Somehow its hard to believe that en executive from VW could have made such a comment, taking into account that the tsi (twincharged) engine is a best seller and it has also been fitted to the new Tiguan.
Even if it was true it is sure a 'no no' statement to be made, especially from an excecutive for a product that is still selling unless he wants to commit a career 'suicide'(you can only imagine what can happen to a company that sells a product that is considered by them 'unreliant')
Thus ny reservetions on the validity of the article.

No, no and no! It is not "the Upper Middle Fork Road into Washington State" but rather "the Upper Middle Ford Road in Washington State." Specifically, that road is just about five miles off of highway I90, after one has driven east of Seattle (Washington, again), about 45 miles. The road runs next to a river and takes one to where a park starts.

I know this road well, having driven several times since 1994, to test four-wheel drive trucks or SUVs. It is a dirt road, filled with potholes. Please don't misrepresent my work as uninformed, or written by someone who is not a Northwest native. - Terry Parkhurst
