Tony George Resigns CEO Positions

Tony George, a famous person in auto sport, has decided to give up his high positions in three companies. The local newspaper Indianopolis Star has noticed that he “resigned under pressure from family members”.
The 49-year-old racer stepped down from being the third-generation leader of the Indianopolis Motor Speedway. Jeff Belksrus is going to replace him as the CEO of the company as well as the other racing divisions of the George family.
Family-owned Hulman & Co. of Terre Haute, Indiana, is not going to be under Tony George either. For almost twenty years he was the president of Speedway, but now the position of the company’s CEO will be taken by its executive vice president Curt Brighton.
Tony also wants to give up his position in Indy Racing League founded by him and focus his attention on Vision Racing team where his stepson Ed Carpenter takes part as a driver.
Although he will not be the president of the companies any more, Tony George remains as member on the board of directors in all three companies. The family says that the companies go to the hands of the very experienced and trusted leaders who were hired by George many years ago.
