Classical Cars: The 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville

So this time we would like to tell you about another classic car 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Seville which belongs to Clark Oliver. This car is painted in Elysian green and this color is particularly allure to the owner.
According to the dictionary Elysian means something related to paradise or something characteristic of heavens. Greek mythology says that Elysium is a home of blessed people. It is paradise situated in the end of the world to where people chosen by gods are sent.
Oliver is fond of his vehicle for its sculptural beauty. It attracts attention with its design simplicity and hidden elegance.
Oliver owns Hair Salon in Westport. Just visit it and you will see that its proprietor appreciates beautiful design in everything. The interior of the Salon has been awarded the prize for the best design and mentioned as one of the top twenty Hair Salons in 2005 by Salon Today magazine.

The Cadillac was purchased 25 years ago. Preciously it belonged to a couple from Arizona and was painted in aqua metallic. This color made the car look dreadfully as it lost all its original elegance.
Though the Cadillac was sound it needed much to be done. Oliver took pains to refinish the car\s body and to return to it its original color. All the works were carried out in Oliver’s garage by his home. The aqua paint was stripped from the door panels and from the dash and they also acquired their original color. The car preserved its original upholstery of the interior with addition of chrome.  The Eldorado has 79,922 miles.
The engine was also very carefully investigated and repaired. Now it works very quietly. It is vell known that in the 50s Cadillacs were evaluated for their smoothness.

In 1957 the Seville coupe cost $7,286 and 2.100 cars were sold.
The Cadillac is provided with 365-cubic-inch V-8 engine which produces 300 horsepower.
The shape of the car is made beautiful with its thin tailfins which are subtle and very delicate unlike other GM’s vehicles made at the same time.
The rear wheels and tiny rear bumpers housing the exhaust outlets and the backup lights are decorated with splashed of stainless steel. The less the more principle as it was understood in 50s seems to be embodied in the overall look of the Cadillac Eldorado Seville.
To Oliver and many other adorers of the car it is more a piece of art than just a transportation means.
