In 2008 Ford Will Prefer to Build More Cars and Fewer Trucks

In its press release published this week Ford gave its own analysis of current economic situation in the USA and defined the strategy of the company’s development dodging to these trends.  In the second quarter of this year Ford will produce 690,000 cars which is 20 000 cars less than it was estimated previously and 15 percent less of the Q2 2007 amount.

Despite of this production decrease Ford will produce more CUVs and hot-selling vehicles such as Mercury Milan, Escape, Mariner, Edge, Focus, Lincoln MKZ and MKX.
At the same time the automaker is going to cut sharply production of SUVs and trucks as these gas- predators are getting less and less popular with drivers because of high fuel prices.
