New Generation of Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen

     Being in Virginia we managed to get acquainted with a new Jetta Sportwagens. The new Sportwagen, like the previous generation Jetta Wagon is branded in North America as a Jetta. The matter is in the fect that Jetta is the most popular Volkswagen model in this region. In other regions however this car is better known as the Golf Variant. The name does not matter as both Jetta and the Golf/Rabbit are provided with the same hardware and are, generally speaking, the same car.

The new model is not as big as the previous Passat wagon, however it seems as roomy as the 2000 Passat wagon. Most of VW cars are provided with both 5-speed three-pedal and 6-speed two-pedal transmission arrangements. It is a pity, however, that all of them were equipped with the base 2.5L inline five-cylinder engine.
