The Hughes Telematics ‘Black Box’ Integrated System

Would you like to have a single integrated computer system in your vehicle?  The system which would be able to provide you with directions, warn you about traffic light cameras,
order theater tickets for you, remind you to maintain the car, check sports scores, control the music you like, make lower your car’s emission and do many other things.
Most of modern computer systems are designed to make your car safer but many drivers want their computers to improve in-car systems.
A “black box” is a new all-in-one control system that was designed by Hughes Telematics Company. This system is able to take all in-car systems together and coordinate them through one computer which includes a cellular modem, GPS and a solid-state hard drive.
This system has many other very useful options such as teenage motorists monitoring, making its own schedule of car maintenance, engaging the security system in the event the car is stole, unlocking the door for rightful car owner.
Oh the system also includes voice recognition option, but … it is not just common voice recognition technology which makes you pronounce phrases like “find movie ‘Ironman.’” The system is quite perfect so you can say just “How ’bout ‘Ironman’? “ and it will understand what you mean.
So, when will the system be available? It is expected that selected Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz will get it next year. However these systems will not include two-way satellite communications and live traffic services until 2011. The price of the system has not been announced yet but, of course, it is going to be rather expensive. .
