Top Car Safety Features Analysis

Safety features are one of the most important characteristics of any vehicle. The better the car is, the more updated and reliable safety systems it is equipped with.
Taking this fact into consideration, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has issued the list of top five modern safety features that may or may not help you in the event of a crash.
So the experts have carefully investigated the efficiency of adaptive headlamps, forward-collision warning systems with emergency brake assist and automatic braking, blind-spot detection systems, lane-departure warning systems and forward-collision warning systems. The experts have discovered that some of these technologies are often not as useful as their manufacturers and automakers say.
Annually around 2.3 million frontal crashes take place and 7,200 of them end in a fatality. Currently the number of different types of systems that can detect possibility of frontal collision is constantly increasing. However, they can only help drivers but in no case to replace them. Only when a driver is attentive and careful at wheel these systems are efficient. The same is regarding the lane departure warning systems designed to inform a driver with a tone in the event he or she is starting to veer out of the lane.
Other systems, for example like blind-spot detection systems are designed not to affect road fatalities directly. However, they are very useful as means of making drivers more aware of their road surroundings.
At the same time according to IIHS experts, adaptive headlamps designed to indicate the car curve, often make drivers increase the speed, which makes a crash more probable.
Whichever technologies help you drive you car, keep in mind that drivers’ errors in the cause number one for collisions. Be very attentive at wheel and new technologies will become you reliable assistants is safe driving.
