Look at Volt Powertrain Mule
When spy photos of some new car appears we usually make a lot of fuss around them> try to get these images from Internet and then study them carefully. However every tome one and the same question arises if the car on the picture really looks the same in reality? If not, how does it look like?
Very often the issue of a very eagerly anticipated car makes reporters pay attention to this vehicle even earlier than they were going to.

The same happened with the issue of Chevy Volt mules’ spy photos. We were aware of GM’s testing new pieces and bits for the Volt nut today we have its photos.
The gray car, as it turned out, is only a handling mule and ride. Its suspension parts are designed for extended range EV; however the engine is bog standard Malibu. The red Malibu on the picture also belongs to powertrain mules. You can see the big lump in front of the driver. It is designed for clearance for the prototype power electronics module which accompanies engine/generator set and the electric drive motor. This system is interlinked with a standard nickel metal hydride hybrid battery acting as a power buffer.
