New Four-Cylinder Diesel Engines from M-B
A few days ago it was announced that Mercedes-Benz is going to release a new four-cylinder diesel engine that combines in itself performance, emission and fuel economy. This 2.1-liter powerplant will produce 204 horsepower and 368 lb.-ft. of torque which means that this is about 20 percent more than the previous model. At the same time it will provide better mileage and more than 10% less emission. If it is installed into new C-class (250CDI) it can reach 60 in 7.7 seconds while getting 46 mpg.

The 220 CDI and 200 CDI which produce 170 hp and 136 horsepower respectively will be fitted into new C-class models. Fuel efficiency and boost in performance is achieved owing to the usage of new twin-stage turbochargers, a revised common-rail setup, more efficient exhaust recirculation, injection systems and intercoolers.
