New Studded Tires for Winter Drivers
Tires with retractable studs though heard about everywhere, until recent times remained to be only drivers’ dreams. Currently it seems that these wonderful tires are becoming true. A start-up company Q Tires has invented the Q Celsius tires which are able to deploy studs from between the treads when this is required by weather conditions.
These wonderful tires are operated wirelessly. The driver by means of a signal can retract and deploy the studs. The tires consist of two different chambers. The only drawback of the invention is that motorists must check pressure of the both chambers more frequently than with normal tires.
According to the company officials the studs can be used about 30 times before they start to lose pressure.
However there is a fact that can prevent the invention from getting popular soon. The matter is in the fact in many states it is forbidden to use studded tires in non-winter driving. But it seems that the company has serious intentions in terms of the invention.
Testing of the tires is not completed yet but next winter the invention is expected to be used in northern states.
By the way, the new tires will cost 30% more than normal ones.
