Officially Official: Jaguar Land Rover is sold for $2.3 billion
According to the press release the automaker has sold both brands to Tata Motors Group.
Approximate price of the bargain makes up $2.3 billion.
The information that Ford is going to contribute to pension funds connected with Jaguar and Land Rover has also been confirmed. According to this $600 million will go to the retirement coffer of the two brands. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the following quarter though the subject needs regulatory approval in a few countries.
Since today Ford and Tata become partners as former Jaguar and Land Rover owner is not going to leave the brands. According to the deal Ford will provide them with stampings, powertrains and other components (the full list remains unknown). Besides, Ford will be responsible for environmental and platform technologies, R&D research and even for accountant activity. The fact is the connection between Ford and Land Rover is too strong and it will take much time to weaken it.
According to the press release both parts of the bargain as well as their employees are now pleased with the result of the deal and during the transition period they will run the business as before.
