Strange-looking Hako Concept Was Represented at the New York Auto Show
This afternoon in New York all the expectations that Scion would represent the tC next model or at least quite new sports coupe to replace it were gone with the wind. The wrapps were pilled and the audience saw the new Hako Coupe Concept.

Well, it is actually a Scion xB without a couple of doors but with a massive schnoz. Other characteristic features of the car are a seriously upright windshield and many highly stylized details.

Scion’s PR representatives explain that the concept is inspired by the increasing interest of the modern youth to old-fashioned, classic vehicles. May be the things are really like that but to tell the truth the new Hako reminds not an old-fashioned or classic auto but a sporty-looking box.

Despite of its more than odd appearance the new concept, as all of Scion’s cars, is a good blend of functionality and form. The designers of the vehicle tried to adapt their creature to all modern young people’s needs in terms of comfort and convenience. So they equipped Hako with storage crevices for mobile phones and magazines, a videogame-inspired dash and flat monitors.

The hako is announced as a coupe though that’s not what we all expected. But the automaker has frankly said that all the new models will be directed toward the youth car market. What do young, auto-crazed people really want? Perhaps they will adore the new Hako, who knows…
