Wiperless Windshield is Prevented from Rain, Dirt and Grim
You can hardly imagine this yourself but car designer Leonardo Fioravanti has represented the vehicle which does not need windshield wipers. This invention is called Hydra and it is expected to reach mass production in the next few years.
You may ask how the windshield keeps itself clear. Everything depends on the Hydra’s aerodynamic design which allows rain and debris just slide off the surface of the windshield. However the chemical treatments for the glass are the real innovation.
Its beginning is the water-resistant layers. Then the glass is covered with a layer of nano dust. We cannot explain you exactly what the nano dust is but we can tell you that the layer pushes the dirt to the edges of the windshield when your vehicle is moving forward.
Then the windshield is covered with the third layer of receptor surface that tells the nano dust glass when the windshield is dirty. However you shouldn’t forget that this glass is a mechanical product. That’s why the fourth layer of the windshield surface is made of electrically conductive material. It is applied to power the whole gadget.
Of course, you can think that all this sound very complicated and expensive. Yes you are right, as this product is quite new and it is has not been tested yet. Yet it le. has all chances to become popular and thus more affordable.
