2009 SL63 and SL65 AMG have been officially represented by Mercedes Benz.
As the experts expected the new SL was represented together with a new AMG variant. So we welcome the new SL63 AMG instead of the previous supercharged 510-horsepower SL55 AMG.

The new model makes 538 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. The new AMG SL has got a new style, a new-look fascia revised rump and side grills. At the same time it has preserved all the elements typical for the model, like a full aero kit, all the requisite badging, a unique hood and wheels similar to those of a Porsche 911 Turbo. Interior includes leather and carbon fiber as well as all the gadgets usual for the car, including Bluetooth that can connect with any phone.

What is really new with SL63 is seven-speed twin-clutch SpeedShift MCT (Multi-Clutch Transmission) with four drive modes. The system will allow smoother and faster shifts. Its optional performance package includes ceramic front brake discs, unequal-width front and rear tires, updated Active Body Control system, a limited-slip rear differential, the AIRSCARF neck warmer system and a flat-bottomed steering wheel provided with metal shift paddles.

In the event the 538 horses of the SL63 aren’t enough, don’t be upset as the automake also returns its SL65 AMG which will certainly satisfy any motorist with its 604 horsepower and a BRABUS-like 738 lb-ft of torque.

Prices of the new models are not announced yet.
