Canadian Leasing Companies Complain About High Import Charges

We have already written an article which informs our readers about high car prices in Canada.
Currently the two leasing Canadian companies are suing the Canadian government, Mercedes-Benz USA LLC, the BMW Canada Inc., and the Mercedes-Benz Canada Inc. however the subject of the suit is not the uncompetitive pricing.
They claim that import rules are too strict and they prevent the companies from buying the vehicles in the United States and selling them in Canada. A lot of fees, procedures and restrictions make the companies to increase the price of the cars for 20% - 30% selling them in Canada. For example, to import a BMW a company must pay a $350 admissibility charge. All these fees and charges allow BMW and Mercedes to sell their cars 20% and 35% more expensive than the same models in the USA.
