VAZ makes really cheap cars

Over the years Russia is supposed to become the largest car market in Europe. You can ask what are the main demands and standards for Russian car. The answer is very simple. The transportation is expected to be cheap and honest. It must be a “people’s car”. Russian automaker AvtoVAZ wants to conform to this criteria’s.

As far as most of Russian customers are no longer going buy something like Audi R8 or custom SUV.  According to Boris Aleshin, the head of AvtoVAZ, well known as manufacturer of Lada, AvtoVAZ wants to offer market a car with a price tag of about $6000. “We need to produce a new very cheap car model costing around $US six- seven thousand but not more than $US 7.3 thousand, and probably there will be several budget models”. Still it should be cheap enough to attract a customer who is used to buy cars of foreign production.
