Ford’s SYNC Makes Cars Popular

Nowadays Ford is having more and more success with its new SYNC handsfree system. To demonstrate the advantages and abilities of SYNC and show some enhancement to this system the automaker is using the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
By the end of 2008 Ford is going to provide all his new cars with SYNC as option. Nowadays only 13 Ford’s models are equipped with the system.
The automaker also represents its new navigation system (offered in the new Lincoln MKS) which was represented at the Los Angeles auto show. This system is connected with Sirius satellites which allows it to provide the driver with the information about traffic, movie times or, which is also very important, routs to the cheapest fuel on the way.

Ford-Microsoft SYNC System

According to Ford, installation SYNC will help sell the unsold vehicles.
SYNC is industry-exclusive technology of Ford. The system is created along with Microsoft. It provides customers vehicle voice command compatibility with Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones portable digital media players.
Ford has exclusive rights to use this technology on his cars within 18 month before other automakers can offer it.
According to Ford his Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars equipped with SYNC are sold at least twice faster than those without this option. The automaker is planning to convert all his cars to SYNC aas option by the end of the calendar year.

Joe Phillippi, principal of AutoTrends, an automotive consulting company, says that it isn’t surprising SYNC is helping, because the techies who already have all things electrical now in their pockets want all things electrical now in their cars, too.
SYNC attracts mostly younger customers looking for sophisticated electronic options. It is also convenient for those older buyers who want their hands be free from mobile hone when they are  at wheel. This is particularly important in big cities where the use of hand-held mobile phones is forbidden at wheel.
Ford takes particular care of his invention. His trainers are sent to all the stores in order to help the staff to get acquainted with the technology. They teach personnel how to use the system to make calls or play songs in order they could quickly demonstrate the advantages of SYNC to the potential buyers. According to survey conducted by Ford among SYNC buyers, 80% consider the device easy to learn and use and 90% are going to recommend it to their friends.
Though Gimmicks do not work inmost cases, Ford has proved that there are exceptions. SYNC is getting even more popular than it was expected also because its comparatively low price – the device is offered for $395 which makes it affordable even for inexpensive cars. This attracts a wide variety of customers.
Ford and Microsoft are intending to create a new generation of SYNC with absolutely new enhanced features.
