2009 Dodge Challenger
The representation of a new Challenge, a concept of a muscular car which is inspired diretly by the car created long ago in 1970.
Shortened LX platform was taken as a basis for this retro-styled coupe. The car also has the rear-wheel-drive chassis which was used also with the Dodge Charger, Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum.
Manual transmission with a pistol-grip shifter is linked to the 425-hp 6.1-liter V-8 engine which powers the vehicle.
However this orange car is not just a simple reminder of glorious days of Detroit motor show.
This vehicle is considered to be the beginner of the new generation of Challengers created on the basis of updated LX platform version equipped with Hemi V-8 power or a V-6 depending on the price.
The Challenger will hit the markets in 2009. it is expected to be a rival to the Chevy Camaro (in the event Chevrolet builds it) and Ford’s red-hot retro Mustang.[VIA: automobilemag.com]
