Future Skoda VW Derivative

A small Skoda Fabia is based on the platform of Volkswagen Polo (both cars are not sold in the USA). However, Reinhard Jung, the chairman of Skoda tells that they want to make even smaller vehicle also based upon VW platform – this is expected to be the newcoming version of Volkswagen up! concept.

VW Up!

The future car is also going to be produced not for the USA but for Russia, China and India. These automarkets are very rapidly developing and growing that’s why Skoda wants to sell its cars here. Today the Check branch of the VW Group produces 60 000 vehicles a year and in a year or so it is intending to increase car production up to 120 000 vehicles annually.

VW Up!

By 2010 the company is going to reach the result of 350 000 cars sold at these markets. There are several new small VW concepts which can become a basis for a new Skoda. They are Space Up! Blue represented in Los Angeles, the original two-door Up! Represented in Frankfurt and the Space Up! van shown in Tokyo.[VIA: spbcar.ru]
