Carbon Ceramic Brakes for All Ferraris in 2008
When we speak of such high-speed vehicles as Ferrari we should keep in mind that the car`s ability to dissipate speed is no less important than its ability of speed accumulating. The kinetic energy is transformed into heat energy by means of brakes. Because of high temperature of the brakes the soon become less effective.
To solve this problem, carbon ceramic brakes were designed. Earlier automakers used these brakes only with race cars. They are developed to provide great stopping power and improved fade resistance.
This type of brakes has been offered also by such models as Lamborghini, Porsche and even Ferrari however it was not standard.
That`s why Ferrari becomes the first automaker to install carbon brakes as standard equipment for all the vehicles of the lineup. According to Ferrari General Manager Amedeo Felisa all the vehicles of the automaker will be provided with carbon ceramic brakes starting in 2008.
