Toyota Tundra Dually Diesel
Toyota responded to the customers` request for diesel motivation for Tundra pickup. The result is the Tundra Dually Diesel.

The Dually`s main pride is a JO8E 8.0-liter inline six turbodiesel. It makes 300 horsepower and its torque is 600 lb.-ft.

To install such a mill into the Tundra`s tight confines was rather difficult. The automakers had to lift the body off the frame for 3 inches, and only after hard work they managed to fit the engine weighting 1,500 pounds into the bay.

The interior of the pickup suffered because of the necessity to fit the oil burner into the snout and mat it to a five-speed Allison tranny.

So now we have the nonfunctional HVAC controls and when the driver needs to shift gears he uses a massive stick which provides additional leverage.

Despite of the fact that there is much information available regarding the new pickup concept the vehicle itself is not expected to hit the road soon.
