VW & Daimler Chrysler`s CO2 Output is Higher than Last Year

According to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association statement proclaimed in 1998 in 10 years cars should put out 140g of CO2 per kilometer. Nowadays according to the BBC only two carmakers are close to this figure and two of big German carmakers have raised their CO2 output since 1998.

In the survey VW, DaimlerChrysler and Suzuki are the only automakers who have increased their fleet CO2 levels. For example BMW managed to lower its CO2 output up to 184g\km. at the same time VW increased its output by 9 percent and Daimler Chrysler - by 2.80 percent. Despite of the fact the VW has increased the emission it still remains the best performing German carmaker and its fleet average is just 166 g/km. PSA/Citroen is the closest to the norm as its CO2 emission is 142g\km. Fiat follows with its 144 g\km.
